Ingredients
- yellow cake mix (and ingredients according to box)
- sugar cookie mix (and ingredients according to box)
- brownie mix (and ingredients according to box)
- white/vanilla icing
- red, yellow and green food coloring
- sesame seeds for "bun"
- yellow cake mix = buns
- brownie mix = patties
- colored icing = lettuce, ketchup, and mustard
- sugar cookie mix = fries
Directions
- For the hamburger cupcakes, prepare the yellow cake batter according to the package directions. Fill lined muffin cups about halfway and bake as directed, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for at least 20 minutes, then cut each cupcake in half horizontally.
- Prepare and bake the brownie mix in a 10 x 14-inch pan, if available, so the brownies are fairly thin. Cool for 30 minutes.
- Divide the icing among three bowls and tint one red, one yellow and one green. Cut brownie rounds about the same diameter as the cupcakes.
- Put a dot of icing on each bottom cupcake half and add a brownie “patty.” Pipe red, yellow and green icing around the patty, then add the cupcake top. Lightly moisten the top and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- For the cookie fries, prepare the sugar-cookie dough as directed. Chill and roll it out, then cut it into strips. Arrange on a baking sheet and freeze for about 5 minutes to help the strips hold their shape.
- Bake as directed, until lightly golden. Cool just enough to handle, then sprinkle with white sugar. Serve alongside the hamburger cupcakes.
