Ingredients
- torrey’s 11 herb and spice rub for pork
- brown sugar 1 c
- sea salt 1 tsp
- black pepper 1 tsp
- garlic powder 1 tbsp
- onion powder 1 tbsp
- cayenne pepper 1 tsp
- smoked hungarian paprika 1 tbsp
- cumin 1.5 tsp
- old bay 1 tbsp
- sazon 1 packet
- thyme 1 tsp
Directions
- Mix well and store in an air tight container. Apply generously.
- Mix all of the seasoning and the brown sugar in a bowl using a fork or whisk. Make sure there are not chunks of brown sugar. This makes more than enough rub for one side of ribs, so put it all in a sealed container and pour it out as you need it. Rub the ribs generously on both sides. Wrap tightly in foil and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Overnight is best.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Place the foil wrapped ribs in a shallow pan on the bottom rack of the oven. Cook 45 minutes, remove the foil, drain the ribs and bake an additional 45 minutes. Remove the ribs, drain, and baste with BBQ sauce on all sides. Put back in for 15 minutes. Remove again and baste and turn the over up to 450°F. Cook for 5–7 minutes until the BBQ is caramelized. Allow to rest 10 minutes and serve.
